Arrest Warrant Issued in Death of Connecticut Tow Operator Alex Ramos
Police in Bloomfield, Connecticut, have gotten an arrest warrant for the driver accused of hitting and killing tow truck operator Alex Ramos.
Ramos, 26, a husband and father of two, was working beside his tow truck on Tunxis Avenue on the evening of Sept. 8 when a car hit him. He died at the scene. The 28-year-old driver now faces charges of second-degree manslaughter, driving under the influence, and failure to reduce speed for a non-emergency vehicle. Bond is set at $425,000, and police say they're working to make the arrest.
Family and friends held a vigil on Tunxis Avenue this week, calling for justice and asking drivers to slow down and move over for tow operators.
Our thoughts are with the Ramos family. Every tow operator deserves to make it home.
